As the vibrant shores of Antigua & Barbuda prepare to host Showcase Antigua Barbuda from June 23 to 26, 2024, the excitement in the air is palpable. This premier event, orchestrated by the Antigua & Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association (ABHTA) and the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority (ABTA), is more than just a showcase—it's a celebration of the island's rich culture, luxurious hospitality, and unwavering commitment to creating unforgettable experiences for visitors.

A Lean but Mighty Force: The ABHTA's People-First Approach

Under the adept leadership of Patrice Simon, the Executive Director of ABHTA, the association exemplifies how a lean team can generate a massive impact. Patrice Simon has been instrumental in steering the ABHTA towards a people-first approach, ensuring that every interaction and initiative is centered on enhancing the experience for visitors and stakeholders alike. Despite its size, this dedicated group consistently creates buzz and crafts compelling, collaborative events that benefit the entire tourism sector.

The Antigua & Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association (ABHTA) embodies a spirit of collaboration and a deep-seated love for Antigua and its people. Their dedication ensures that every facet of the showcase exudes the warmth and hospitality that the islands are celebrated for—from hotels and accommodations to tours and immersive experiences. By linking travel partners with the sun-soaked, authentic essence of Antigua, the ABHTA is pivotal in sustaining and expanding the tourism industry, even amidst challenges.

Colin C. James, CEO of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, underscores the showcase’s critical role in maintaining Antigua & Barbuda’s status as a premier travel destination. "Showcase Antigua and Barbuda is perfectly positioned to provide our travel partners with insights into a destination that offers not just one but two extraordinary and distinct experiences for their clients," he states.

James emphasizes that the ABTA's commitment to keeping Antigua & Barbuda in the hearts and minds of travel decision-makers is evident in every facet of the event. They are eager to welcome back their partners to experience the island's unique charm and exceptional hospitality firsthand, making sure that Antigua and Barbuda remain top of mind for travelers around the globe.

COVID Sparked A Cultural Collaboration

During the tail end of the pandemic, when many were hesitant to venture outdoors yet craved meaningful connections, our journey with the Antigua & Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association (ABHTA) began. We hosted their team on a memorable Deluxe Ras Freeman Tour, immersing them in the heart of Rastafari culture. This experience not only connected them to Antigua’s rich heritage but also fostered invaluable insights and opportunities for collaboration. This initial encounter laid the foundation for a partnership rooted in mutual respect and a shared passion for showcasing Antigua’s vibrant cultural tapestry, offering visitors an authentic taste of Wadadli.

At Humble and Free Wadadli, we are thrilled to be a hospitality partner for Showcase Antigua Barbuda 2024. Our involvement goes beyond just presenting our offerings; it’s about fostering meaningful connections with individuals passionate about sharing Antigua's rich cultural heritage with visitors. During the last Showcase in 2022, a select few attendees experienced the soulful essence of Rastafari on our Ras Freeman Tour. This immersive journey allowed them to connect deeply with the ethos of 'living free and humble,' which is central to our mission and everything we do.

Partnering with the Antigua & Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association (ABHTA) and the Antigua & Barbuda Tourism Authority (ABTA) perfectly aligns with our mission to provide authentic, people-centered experiences. We believe that genuine connection and understanding stem from immersing oneself in local culture and community. The Showcase serves as an ideal platform for Antigua’s hospitality and tourism companies, to impart these values to a wider audience. From our vantage point, it’s another invaluable opportunity to connect people to the profound beauty and heritage of Antigua & Barbuda through the unique lens of Rastafari.

As we eagerly anticipate Showcase Antigua Barbuda 2024, excitement mounts. This year's event promises to be exceptional, with the unveiling of new and upgraded properties and a continued spotlight on the finest offerings our islands boast. At Humble and Free Wadadli, we are thrilled to once again share our distinctive brand of hospitality with the world. We look forward to offering an authentic taste of Rastafari culture that beautifully complements the natural allure of Antigua & Barbuda.
